This is to inform you that, on 7^th September 2017, a Judicial Publication was issued by the Law and Judiciary Department, introducing the “Maharashtra Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2017”

Further to inform you that, the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2017 has come into force on 19th December 2017 by the Notification issued by the Ministry of Labour and Employment  

Further according to Section 39 of the “Maharashtra Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2017”, on and from the date of commencement of Maharashtra Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2017, the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments Act, 1948 shall stand repealed, which means that the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2017 shall replace the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments Act, 1948
